Marina Resort Big Bear Lake, California – A Review
When we decided to stay at Big Bear Lake, we wanted to make sure that our accommodation was both good value but also had a great view. Charmed at the idea of spending some time exploring nature we wanted to be able to look out our window in the morning and admire the views. We spent ages on hotels.com comparing prices and reviews until eventually we came across Marina Resort. It was perfect. There was a lakeside view, and the price was reasonable. This is our review for Marina Resort Big Lake, California.

Marina Resort Big Bear Lake California- A review
The Location
The hotel is located on the lakeside, which as I mentioned above makes for an amazing view. It is also just across from the main village, with several bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance. For us we could not have asked for anything else.
Checking in
The first thing we noticed at check-in was the awesome lobby. It has such a cosy lakeside feel, with wooden carved furniture drawing you in. Staff here were lovely as well. And check in was so efficient. They gave us some fantastic recommendations on where to go to eat and for things to do.
The Room
When we walked into the room the first thing we noticed was the view. It was one of those rooms you walk into and can’t help repeating the words “wow” over and over again. We had a room with a King sized bed and a balcony overlooking the lake. The room was decorated so you felt like you were staying in a cabin, and the best bit had to be the gas-log fireplace. This was such a nice touch. The room was also really clean and well maintained.
There was a mini refrigerator which was brilliant as we bought a bottle of wine in town and shared this on the balcony whilst watching the sunset. We visited in October and sitting on the balcony at night was just bearable in terms of temperature. What made it even more amazing was that we got to sit and look at the stars. Wifi was included which was brilliant although I felt a bit guilty with my face in my phone instead of being at one with nature.
When we went back inside, we loved the feel of the room. The bed was comfortable and it was just bliss turning on the fireplace and cozying up with a book and glass of wine.
The Amenities
The resort has free parking out the front. There is also a pool and a jacuzzi for guests to use. It is beautiful because it is all right on the lake and you can walk up to it from the resort grounds. There is also a BBQ and a volleyball net and a playground for the kids.
The Cost
We found a brilliant deal on hotels.com. It was one of the mid-range choices in Big Bear that we came across. Ultimately what you are paying for is the view, and for us it was really worth it. We paid £127 for 1 night, but also keep in mind this was a Friday night and it looked like the majority of the resort had been booked for a wedding so I think that brought the price up a little bit. Either way it was definitely worth it.
Marina Resort Big Bear Lake- The Verdict
We absolutely loved staying here. We only wish we could have stayed longer. It is a great place to come and relax and for us was a lovely little couples break. The decor of the room, the fireplace and the balcony for us really made it. If you are going to stay in Big Bear you need to see the lake and this resort certainly ensured that we made the most of it. So if you are wondering whether to book your room then we say yes!
This looks like a magnificent spot to stay.
Photos are very enticing. We will have to make arrangements to pay a visit in the very near future. Thanks for the great post.
Cheers Sharon…
